India is ready to host the 2036 Olympic Games, Home Minister Amit Shah declared at the 38th National Games closing ceremony in Uttarakhand. "I can say now that India has a very bright future in sports," Shah said. We are prepared to host the Olympics in 2036, as we have claimed. He said he was confident Indian athletes would raise the nation's profile and win gold at the Olympics.
Shah emphasized how sports have advanced under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's direction, pointing out that the funding for sports has grown from ₹800 crore in 2014 to ₹3,800 crore. Additionally, he brought up India's increased medal total in international competitions.
Conrad Sangma, the chief minister of Meghalaya, which will host the next National Games in 2027, received the flag from PT Usha, president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). Mansukh Mandaviya, the minister of sports, praised the competitors' efforts and stated that the Games were the first step towards India becoming a sports hub.
With 121 medals, the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) took first place in the medal count at the 38th National Games. The state of Uttarakhand came in seventh place overall.
